Bible says in Hebrew 4:10 “For anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.”
Bible tells us in Genesis that God rested from all his work on seventh day and blessed it. God wants his people to enjoy the same rest he enjoyed when he had finished his work on the seventh day.
The easiest way to receive God’s own rest is to spend time with HIM. And the Good news is that we don’t need to wait for the seventh day to receive this rest. God’s own rest is available to us EVERYDAY 24/7. How? with the coming of our Lord Jesus. Bible says is Matthew 6:5 “The Son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath.” We could receive the same rest father enjoyed on seventh day, everyday, in fact whenever we want. All we need to do is to sit quietly in God’s presence and believe that He is the source of rest and peace.
Jesus, the prince of peace is looking around for those who want to receive the Sabbath day rest. Let’s open the doors and enjoy HIS restful presence.
Bible says in Isaiah 9:6 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
This prophesy was fulfilled when Jesus came into this world. He was born as a child and was given to us as a son of most high God. Please note that the prophet did not use “the” before son but “a” to emphasize the fact that God was and is willing to adopt everyone whoever believes on Jesus, as his own sons and daughters. God had planned to bring his own sons and daughters to glory with Jesus being their elder brother. As Jesus says in Hebrews 2:13 “Here am I, and the children God has given me”.
When we trust Jesus as our elder brother, we enter into a new family and receive the inheritance that God has in store for his children. We not only receive our inheritance but a counselor, who is unique and different from others. HE IS THE WONDERFUL COUNSELOR. Jesus is fully equipped to counsel us according to our needs. He has lived a human life on this earth and has gone through every possible trials and tribulations that might tempt us today. A counselor becomes trustworthy when we could relate our situations and circumstances with his experience. Jesus not only counsels us during our tough times but also lead us to a path where we find complete freedom from the negative effects of adverse circumstances and situations.
Have you tried Jesus as a counselor today? He is just a prayer away.
