Am I “wise” in the sight of the Lord?

Jesus said in Matthew 25:1-4, “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps”.

The Lord called the virgins who had extra oil “wise”, and the ones who had the lamps without any oil as “foolish.” Please note that both of them were waiting for the Lord with their lamps lit. The Lord makes it clear that mere waiting for the Lord doesn’t make us “Wise” in HIS sight. A wise child of God waits for the Lord with full preparation.

Psalm 119:05 says, “The word of the Lord is a lamp for my feet.” The word enlightens our path and brings us in closeness with the Lord but equally important is the anointing of the spirit and the spiritual fervour that cries out the word of the Lord to go and accomplish the purpose of God’s heart.

The one who has been born of the spirit runs after the anointing of the spirit. Anointing of the spirit brings a special joy that fills the believer with a unique strength. None of us can stand on the ground of the invisible word of God without being immersed in the anointing of the spirit. Being a fruit of the Spirit, our faith works in alignment with the anointing of God’s spirit. If our faith is not properly positioned, we feel weak and lose focus.

Faith works as long as the child of God remains in God’s anointing, that further shows itself by the fullness of spiritual joy and fervour. The moment we step out of the anointing by changing the attitude of our mind and focus, our faith stops seeing the things God has prepared for us to receive. We need to go back to the Lord to ask for the fresh anointing so that we may be filled joy in the presence of the Lord.

This is the anointing oil of the Spirit  that distinguishes us in the sight of the Lord as Wise and Foolish. God wants his children to be filled not only with His word but also with the fullness of his anointing all the time.

Do you feel that your cup is drying out and there is no joy in your life? Is believing on the word seem hard even though you know that the Word of God sustains the whole universe by its power…Take heart, You are not alone. All of us go though a phase of dryness in our lives. Child of God ….Run for the Lord, Go to his presence, Spend time in praise and worship, Pray together with believers… And before you know, you will be filled with a special joy and spiritual fervour. The joy of the Lord is the surest sign of the presence of the Lord. And where the Lord is, there is the anointing.
