Arise and Shine!

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.” Isaiah 60-1, 2

The word of the Lord is alive and active filled with his divine grace. The truth that is found at the core of the word reveals the hidden depth of human heart, declaring that all of us are sinful and none of us is worthy to carry on his will and purpose, but the wonderful gift of divine grace comes to our rescue, enabling us to live a life that brings glory to his mighty name.

The word of God works in many-fold ways to bless us. The word kills and heals at the same time, killing the desires and dark rebellious nature that is inherent in us and healing us by filling us with oil of joy and gladness to remain victorious in all situations and circumstances. Word of God, as the bread of life not only satisfies our spiritual hunger but ignites a deep hunger for more in our soul that draws us near to the shepherd of our soul.

Once again, the word of God with the fullness of his grace calls out, “Arise, and shine, for your light has come.”

There may be reasons not to obey the word as of yet. Years of unanswered prayers may have brought dullness in spiritual life, or long wait may have dried up the spiritual fervour, but this is the time to rise up! The light of the gospel is shining brilliantly on you, ready to take the darkness of unbelief away from God’s people. This is the time! muster your strength and stand up in the grace of the Lord!

When you rise up, you may witness the things that are discouraging to the soul, but the Lord has called his people to shine, not in bright places but wherever there is darkness. There may be darkness of lack of faith, disobedience and stubbornness of heart, but believe on the light of the gospel that is deposited in you and ready to break forth and shine like never before!

Your faith can see what your intellect, logic and knowledge can’t. Your faith coupled with the power of the living word of God can move every mountain and turn every darkness into light for the praise of God’s glory!

Rise up and Shine for the Lord says, “let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
