Lamp on the stand

He said to them, “Do you bring in a lamp to put it under the bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand? For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed and whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” Mark 4:21-22

A lamp on a stand is what the Lord has desired us to be. He says that I am the light of the world, those who follow me will have the light of life and will never walk in darkness. The Lord has not only made us a light but the light that carries the brightness of the gospel.  We have been brought from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light  by a price and for a purpose. Know the price the Lord has paid and fulfill the purpose of his heart for his glory.

His word came to rescue us when we were still in darkness. The word was powerful enough to strengthen a child of God to rise from slumber and walk in the newness of the spirit. The word becomes the bread of life for those who accept it with faith. The Sun of righteousness comes to take us under his mighty wings where we find nourishment and protection. What a blessing!

The warmth of His healing rays enables us to walk in Him and declare powerfully his word and works to others. Those who have been purchased by his blood have a mission to fulfill, that is to live for the one who has called them into his glory.

Walking with the Lord is a decision that needs to be renewed daily. It’s lifestyle that is to be adopted, cultivated and bring to fruition so that others may see us shining even when its hard to shine!

Every day brings renewed strength and new assignment from the Lord with an opportunity to offer ourselves as living sacrifices on his alter. God has not made us a repository or storage to keep his glory and power to ourselves but ambassadors and channels through which his glory and praise flows.

We have been saved to save others, we have been enlightened to bring others into his light. Freely we have received, freely we will give.
