Fix your thoughts on Jesus

“Therefore, holy brothers who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.” Heb. 3:1

Some of us begin to walk with Jesus when the times are favourable and life runs smooth. We feel His presence in our blessings, see his divine hand guiding us through the way of our prosperity and hear His voice that takes us to the path of adundance. We see one success after another and testify to others that our God is a good God.

Since life follows a pattern, there arrives a time of misery and pain. We suddenly don’t realize what is happening around us.

Didn’t we think that walking with God mean showers of blessings that never run dry. We thought walking with Jesus mean getting hold of the choicest blessings in this life. So why does the time not seem in our favour anymore? why our own seem to go away from us? Why the work of our hands doesn’t bring the desired fruit any longer and why all efforts seem to go wasted and nothing appears to be moving?

Under the pressure of harsh realities and circumstances, we begin to loose our focus. Instead of feeling the presence of the Lord, we find ourselves being filled with distress and frustration. Instead of seeing his divine hand, we blame our lack of skill and experience for our misery and failure (not knowing that by doing so we are trying to take control over our lives that has already been bought by the blood of the lamb), Instead of hearing his voice, we open ourselves to the deception of our own mind and the lie of the enemy of our soul.

Under the influence of the deception, we declare, “I am alone and no one is with me,” forgetting that the shepherd of our soul has promised to be with us until eternity. Enemy frustrated us to the point where we begin to question the very existence of God by saying, “if there is God, why is He letting me go through such great pain and grief?”

Bible says, “Those who want to live a Godly life will be persecuted.”

Persecution can last for a day or two, months or several years. The intensity of pain may be different for each one of us, but all who want to live a Godly life will be persecuted.

Since life follows a pattern, persecution wouldn’t last for ever. God has designed night and day likewise those who are going through night in their lives, be encouraged that the day of deliverance is coming soon, its right at the door! May be its already arrived!!

Look up, child of God! See that the Lord is shining on you. Do you feel encouraged right now? then know for sure that the presence of the Lord has arrived and you going to be filled with His joy and great power that will lead you to accomplish great works for His Kingdom.

You have no idea how many spiritual battles have you fought and won during the course of your trial and tribulation. When you thought you were left alone and were trying to hide under the sand of distress and failure, God was accomplishing great works in you. When you couldn’t see His hand in your life, God’s mighty hand was busy turning you into the image of Christ!

God has a purpose and plan for all of us. The period of persecution doesn’t mean wasted time. Our God has full authority over past, present and future. He is able to bring the past blessings into your and my life right now! All we need to do is to stand firm in His sovereignty and declare hat only He is the Lord who is who was and who is to come.
