The shepherd of our soul

A good shepherd takes care of his sheep. He builds a relationship with the sheep by encouraging them with his word and they listen to his voice.

Jesus is our shepherd and we are his sheep. He has bought us for a price. He gave up his life to win the life of his sheep. Jesus has left us with a model to follow and become good Stewart of God’s sheepfold.

Jesus, our shepherd, knows the secret of time and place. God positions his people at different places in different times to make then partakers of the blessings he bestows at that place and time.

Blessed are those who follow the good shepherd  wherever he goes, for he says, “I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD” Isaiah 45:3

Jesus, the shepherd of our soul, takes us by unknown path to lead us into the land of promised blessings. The journey might seem difficult but the presence of the source of all blessings brings the abundance of joy and peace.

Don’t let the cloud of yesterday’s failures, discouragement, dishonour, disgrace, or worry block your ears to hear the sweet voice of the one who speaks in all truth and sincerity. His voice is the only lamp to take us to the destination God has chosen for us in Christ.

Who is your shepherd? Who is leading you? Whose voice captivates you? Whose presence empowers you?

Is it your own desires or emotions that keep changing with season? Or is it the one who forces you to live a life independent of your creator? It’s strange how easily we give into the deception of the one who comes to steal kill and destroy and not pay attention to the voice of the one who says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love.” Jer. 31:3

Listen to your shepherd!

Jesus is looking for more sheep to enter into his sheepfold, he says, “I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd”.

Let’s run to the shepherd of our soul for only in him we will find the abundance of light and life.
