Ezekiel 47:9, “Where the river flows, everything will live.”
Ezekiel had a vision where he saw that a river was flowing from the entrance of the temple. The angel who was sent to show this vision to Ezekiel led him to different parts of the temple. When Ezekiel arrived at the bank of the river, he saw great many trees on both sides of the river. The fruit will serve as food and the leaves for the healing.
The river that flows from the throne has also been described in Revelation 4:6. The river looks like a river of glass, clear as crystal. The river that flows from the throne in the temple of God is the river of God’s mercies that are renewed every day. We need His mercy and grace to live a life in all its abundance.
Ezekiel says that where the river flows, everything will live. The life that we try to live on our own can never bring fulfilment but the life that the Lord enables us to live through his mercy brings Godly fulfilment both to us and around us. Its His mercy that we are called sons and daughters of the most High God. Its His mercy that we do the things above and beyond our natural abilities. Its His mercy that enables us to follow Christ.
God’s mercies are available for us like a river. We need a portion from the river of his mercy to lead a Godly life. Its His mercy that meets our deepest desires and nourishes our soul, the way fruit nourishes the body. Its by his mercy that we receive healing from the throne of the Lord.
Ask the Lord to send the daily portion of his mercy from the river that flows from His throne. His mercy is all we need to live a Godly life here on this earth.
