Joy of the Lord

John 16:20-22, ” Your sorrow will turn into joy. When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrows for her hour of suffering has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. ..I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.”

Jesus was strengthening his disciples in John chapter 16. He said that the disciples hearts will rejoice and no one will take their joy away from them.

God created the whole universe with His word. When Jesus declared a word or gave a command, the power to carry it out was granted to the listeners. Every command and declaration of the Lord carry an intrinsic power to get translated into human obedience. We don’t need to question God’s word or command, doesn’t matter what our circumstances and situations tell us.

The word of the Lord is alive and active, sharper than any double edged sword. Whatever you read in the Bible is able to transform your thinking and action pattern, even though you find it really hard to follow. Ask the Lord of the word to move in your thoughts and actions when you read his word and you will see a change in your actions and thoughts.

The Joy of the Lord is ours since the Lord has already granted it to us. Please note that the Joy of the Lord wouldn’t leave nor forsake you whatever the life throws at you.

Do you see yourself surrounded by circumstances that try to steal your joy? Read the above verse out-loud and ask the Lord of the verse to start moving in your thoughts and actions when you read this verse. You will see yourself being filled with His peace that will never leave you.
