Revelation Series – Chapter one

The revelation of Jesus Christ was given to John by an angel. The book of revelation is full of blessings. No other book of the Bible says, “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophesy and blessed are those who hear.” Read aloud this book of prophesy and be blessed in Jesus name!

This book of prophesy was written for seven churches of God.

“Grace to you and peace from Him who is, who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of earth.”

John began the book by sending Grace and peace of God to the churches. Without the blessing of Grace and peace, God’s people can’t live a life that glorifies God. The blessing of Grace and peace is complete and whole since it comes down from the Holy Trinity – Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. No work for the kingdom of God can be accomplished without the blessing of Grace and peace. This speaks to the people who want to work for the kingdom of God or have been working for the kingdom of God, unless the blessing of Grace and peace is available, the service to God will not be fruitful and effective.

“To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and forever and ever. Amen.”

Jesus shed his blood to redeem mankind from sin and consequences of sins. His blood has purified our conscience and delivers us from guilt so that we may serve the living God. Without being washed by the blood of the lamb, we can’t serve the God who is alive and lives for ever and ever.

When God delivers someone through His Son, Jesus Christ, He takes him/her from one glory to another by giving spiritual authority and new name. Those who believe on God’s work of salvation through Jesus Christ and confess that Jesus is the Lord enter into Royal priesthood and become Holy nation and Kingdom. Please notice that God multiplies the moment someone accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. One man or women becomes the thing of past and they are called by a new name “Kingdom.”  Kingdom where Christ is the King and an army of Holy angels come to help those who are to serve the living God. IF you are in Christ, you are not single but have become a nation and Kingdom. Wherever you move, the Kingdom of God moves with you. When others look at you, they see you many not one.

“Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

Jesus is our Alpha and the Omega. Alpha and Omega are the first and the last word of Greek alphabet. Jesus declares that he is the beginning and end of the creation. “He is before all things.” He is the fullness and completion of God’s creation. In his presence everything becomes whole. He brings life and light to God’s creation.

John was on the island of Patmos and on the Lord ’s Day he heard a loud voice like a trumpet.

Coming of Christ is accompanied with Holy angels who proclaim his praise and Glory. An army of angels was seen by the shepherds when Jesus was born. The army of angels goes before the Lord declaring his praise, honour and glory in a loud voice, like the sound of trumpet. The Lord asked John to write a book and send to seven Churches, and since Jesus is same yesterday, today and forever, he alone can tell what to do and where to go. Without receiving specific instructions from the Lord, no ministry can grow. Those who wait upon the Lord to hear his voice are blessed not only with God’s clear direction also the power to move in the direction of his will.

John saw seven golden lampstands and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe. “Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning, I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. The hairs of his head were white like white wool, like snow. His eyes were

His feet were like burnished bronze refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like sun shining in full strength.”

John heard the voice of the Lord and saw the Lord clearly. John was on the island of Patmos but despite being at an isolated place, his eyes and ears were open to the Lord. This calls for great comfort for those who are at a place that seems isolated to them. Let whoever is reading be filled with God’s grace to see and hear him in all situations.

John saw the Lord in his glory and beauty. The Lord was wearing a robe with golden sash around his chest. The robe that the Lord was wearing is the robe of righteousness. Those who believe become righteousness of most High God and the Lord freely cloth them with robe of righteousness just as when the prodigal son came back to the father, father gave him a new robe so the Lord is willing to give a new authority, a new position to those who come to him leaving behind the old way of life. The Lord that we serve is Holy and just by looking at us, he delivers us from all evil. May the Lord shine his face on us and look at us as we wait upon the Lord to come on our way.

The Lord is the source of life and his voice brings life and refreshment to those who open their ears to his voice. The word that comes from his mouth is double edged. It is living and alive, that convicts the listener and brings him to complete repentance by its great power. The face of the Lord shines like the Sun that is shining in all its brilliance, those who look to the Lord become radiant. In Old Testament, we read that Moses spent 40 days at the top of the mountain with the Lord. When Moses came down, his face was shining. Paul says in 2 Corinthian 3:9, “For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory.” And He said in verse 18, “We all with unveiled face, beholding the glory of Lord.” Rise and Shine, child of God for his glory has arrived by the coming of Jesus and his light is shining on you.

“When John saw the Lord, he fell at his feet as though dead. But the Lord laid His right hand on him saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last and the living one. I died and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and hades. Write therefore the things the you have seen, those that are to take place after this. As for the mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands, the seven stars are the seven angels of the churches and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.”

The Lord declared his authority over the world of dead and hades in front of John in all authority. When John saw the Lord, he fell at his feet out of reverence and the Lord encouraged him by telling him, “Don’t be afraid.” The Lord is giving this message to everyone reading these words today. He says, “Don’t be afraid.” For he has conquered death and the world of dead. He is victorious who has made us more than victorious in his victory procession. What you see today, claim the authority of Jesus Christ the resurrected one over your situation, your life, your circumstances and everything. The Lord is sovereign and Almighty. He is the resurrected one who can bring everything in your life back to life. Confess the victory of the Lord over your life and tell him Lord I am more than victorious because I am in you. Declare this Christ earned victory every day and you will see yourself walking and running in Christ earned victory in your life. Whatever comes to steal kill and destroy has already been declared defeated by Christ, the resurrected Lord.

Chapter 2, “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: “These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and who walks among seven lampstands.

The Lord has a specific purpose and plan for each one of us. We may not be able to discern the plan of the Lord but when we sit in his Holy presence, he begins to reveal the hidden depth of his heart. The Lord gave a specific message to the church in Ephesus and asked John to tell the churches that the message is from the one who has complete authority over churches and over the angels who have been sent out by most high God to maintain the authority of God over those churches. The Church is the body of Christ. And angels are God appointed chief of army to fight with the forces of darkness that try to stop the answers of God’s people belonging to that specific congregation.

Whatever Church you belong to, pray for the protection of your Church, so that your prayers may not be delayed and hindered.
