He ate in their presence!

Luke 24: 37-42, “They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. 38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? 39 Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”

When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43 and he took it and ate it in their presence.

After His resurrection, Jesus met two people on the road to Emmaus. These two were talking about Jesus and Jesus himself started walking with them, but they couldn’t recognise him. Jesus asked them if they had something to eat. They gave him a piece of broiled fish and Jesus ate it in their presence.

Jesus ate in their presence!

Jesus is ready to reveal himself in a way that his people will recognise him. Paul under the influence of the Holy Spirit wrote, “I became everything for everyone to win them for the kingdom of God.” Jesus our Lord and Saviour who gave his life on his own accord and was resurrected on the third day appears to us the way we will recognise him.

In old days God spoke that He is the one who hides himself. But in these days God has revealed himself to us through his Son Jesus Christ. There is no distinction between the one who is saved and the one who saves. Both belong to the same family! Both belong to the household of God with Jesus as our elder brother!

Jesus says that “I stand at the door and knock. If any man hears my words and open the door, I come inside. I eat with them and they with me.”

Jesus loves eating with the people God has entrusted in his guidance. Those people may be full of doubts about the presence of Jesus in their lives, But Jesus is present  even in their doubtful conversation, the way he was listening to these two people on their way to Emmaus.

Jesus ate in their presence!

The Lord wants to come and dine with you!

Are you in doubts? Start talking to other believers about Jesus, Jesus will listen to your conversation and will come to clarify those doubts in a way that you may receive him once again as your source and strength.

Start talking about Jesus! He longs to eat in your presence!!!
