Teach us to number our days

Psalm 90:12, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Wisdom begins when we come to the realisation that the Lord has put us on this earth for a short period of time. Wisdom begins when we acknowledge that our lives on earth are numbered and we have been created to live with God in eternity. Wisdom begins when we begin to prepare ourselves for the coming of the Lord while living in our earthly abode.

This wisdom doesn’t come easily. People don’t think about eternity until they go through some painful experiences or situations that shatter their confidence and bring them to realize that they might think of themselves as  wise and mighty in their own sight but its the LORD who is Sovereign in all situations.

Blessed are those who prepare themselves for eternity by walking in the fear of the Lord.

If you are living a life that is not focused on eternity, this is the time.

Think that the things of the world will come and go but whatever is done for the service of the LORD will be remembered forever. Its our fellowship and the work done under the guidance of the Holy Spirit that will be recognised by the Lord just as the Lord recognised the work of Cornelius when an angel of the Lord appeared to him and said, ” Your prayers and work of charity has come as a memorial offering to the LORD.”

Let us work hard so that our work bring commendation from the LORD Himself!

Lets manage our time well and not forget that we have a mission to accomplish on this earth as copartners with God.

Lets remind ourselves every day that we have been created to accomplish two fold work  by fulfilling our responsibility in this world and the world to come, as per the Lord’s command, “Give to God what belongs to God and to Caesar what belongs to Caesar.”

Let’s work hard to be called wise in the sight of the LORD by managing our time well!
