God’s love is multidimensional, it has height, breadth, length and depth. It is beyond our human understanding. We can’t comprehend the fullness of God’s love doesn’t matter how hard we try unless the power of God (Holy Spirit) reveals the hidden layers of God’s love to us.
Our definition of love is restricted to one dimension only, that is, something that makes us feel good is lovable. But God’s love is different. Sometimes the expression of God’s love fills us with great joy, other times it brings us to the depth of the valley of shadows. In the bottom of the valley, we struggle to comprehend God’s love. We question ourselves why our loving God would put us in the depth of the valley? In our pain and distress, we tend to forget that “All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord.”
When Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were thrown into the furnace since they disobeyed King’s verdict to bow down the statue that was erected as per the kingly order. Even though Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were in the fire but God’s love and His presence didn’t leave them. God sent an angel to rescue them out of the furnace in the seeing of the King and .his officials. In his amazement, the king asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?” They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.” He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.” Daniel 3:24-25
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were thrown into the fire but God not only rescued them out of it but also revealed his glory to the pagan King.
Where are you today? If you are deep down in the valley, rest assured that the Lord will not only exalt you to the greatest heights but also give a testimony to those around you!!
God’s love never leaves nor forsakes us, in fact it follows us and seek and find us wherever we are!
God’s love reaches down from heaven to earth. God’s love didn’t leave Joseph who was thrown into a deep pit by his brothers. When Joseph came out, he was made the prime minister of Egypt! When Paul and Silas were thrown into jail (Acts 16), their imprisonment became a means by which the jailor and his family came to know the salvation of the Lord. God’s people, even though imprisoned, bring deliverance and salvation to others for the glory of the Lord!
Where are you today? in deep darkness, depth of shadows or somewhere else. Remember God’s love is pursuing you! He is ready to cover you with his outstretched arms. Worship him like Paul and Silas and the Lord will not only rescue you but also bring salvation to those who have put you in adverse situations!
We serve the living God!
