Come to me!

Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Jesus is giving this invitation to one and all. The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords is saying, “Come to me.”

People go to Jesus for various reasons: some because they are sick and wanted to receive healing, others because they have used all resources and strategies but haven’t received any success and some in hope to receive material, financial or other type of blessing.

Jesus has opened a way for all. His blessings are not restricted to a sect of people. It is open to everyone who takes the invitation, “Come.”

Jesus promises to give rest to everyone. The only condition is that they have to acknowledge that they are weary and heavy laden.

Those who come to Jesus will find rest but Jesus will not let them take his rest for free. He will give them his yoke.

Jesus’ yoke is to spread the kingdom of God. His yoke is that every knee bows down and every tongue confess that only in God are victory and strength to be found.

If you have come to the Lord, you will find rest from your burden and will be filled with a zeal to work for the kingdom of God so that everyone could receive the same peace and healing as you have received.

Once you have received Jesus’ yoke, you need not worry about what and how to manage his yoke. He will teach you and will strengthen you with his Holy Spirit to carry on his work to glorify his name.

Come to Jesus to receive rest today!

Why Worry?

All of us know that worrying about things don’t make easier rather hamper our decision making and fill us with negative thoughts. But in today’s world, we can’t avoid being worried about things. World is changing at fast and unpredictable pace which poses new challenges to today’s society that were never faced by past generations. New challenges open new doors for worrisome thinking. What if I fail? What if I wont be able to accomplish the mark? What would others say about me? All theses thoughts fill our minds when we venture out to work or move in new direction.

Worry is not bad as long as it inspire us to prepare for the future. Problem arises when we focus more on worry than preparation.

The tendency to focus more on worry creates a cycle where negative thoughts rule at the centre of the wheel. If we let this happen for long, there comes a time when we start worrying about anything and everything. The negative thought pattern multiplies exponentially and turns human mind into a battlefield. Mind that is not at rest can’t make right decisions, nor can it be beneficial to the service of the Lord.

Are you worried about your future? Are you always struggling with the negative thoughts and don’t know where to go? Have you tried everything and don’t know what else to do?

Why not try to get help from above. Why not try the Son of God who brought down new hope and peace to this world.

Jesus comes to rescue mankind when they were in darkness to give them light of hope and peace. He is the one who offers his own peace. His peace is not the peace of the world that is dependent of worldly possession. His peace is everlasting and eternal in nature that stays and covers every area of our lives.
